Sustainability
To operate sustainably is our overriding goal. To accomplish this, we aim to achieve commercial success in a way that is compatible with our social and environmental responsibilities.

Our corporate social responsibility program involves product donations, financial support, grants, employee volunteering and strategic partnerships. For example, we fund the BayerBoost Environmental Scholarship Scheme for students in partnership with the Royal Society of New Zealand.
Bayer employees actively participate in Bayer’s community investment program, known as ‘Give’. Through the Give program, employees support a variety of charities with volunteering, fundraising, payroll giving and community grants. Our key charity partnership is with United Way New Zealand who support small to medium-sized human welfare charities that lack the name recognition to attract significant funding.
At a global level Bayer invests heavily in climate protection initiatives and places them high on the corporate agenda. This commitment is reflected strongly here in New Zealand and Australia through our B-Green program. B-Green encourages employees to think, act and live green and has clear targets to reduce our environmental footprint year after year. An important component of the program is educating and engaging our employees to actively contribute towards our environmental objectives.
In addition to our focus on social needs and the environment, we consider health, science, education and culture as important areas for our support and of course we respond in times of disaster and crisis.
