CarbonKids helps both primary and secondary school communities to better understand climate change and encourages positive actions that will help them become more sustainable. It will teach students how to save energy, reduce their carbon footprint and protect biodiversity through a range of fun, class-based activities.

Dr Jim Peacock, the CSIRO Fellow responsible for CSIRO Education, says the CarbonKids initiative encourages positive action towards the environment.

He said, “CarbonKids provides Australian teachers and students with an action-based learning program that uses the latest climate change science to support learning and encourage the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The program provides curriculum resources and a wealth of cross-curricula activities to support teaching and learning about climate change.”
