However, our responsibility to the environment goes beyond ensuring our own processes and products are safe – we also encourage environmental responsibility on a wider scale by supporting environmental education initiatives some of which are profiled below.

Partnership with UNEP

As partner to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Bayer organises and supports a number of specific projects which aim to strengthen environmental awareness and improve knowledge about the environment among young people. Building on their many years of cooperation in the Asia Pacific region, Bayer and UNEP decided in June 2004 to put their close and successful partnership on a global basis.

The second Eco-Minds Youth Forum, an environmental program for young people, was held in Thailand in 2007. This initiative is part of Bayer’s global partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). » more

ME-3

ME-3 is an employee environmental program at Bayer designed to provide staff in Australia and New Zealand with a means of identifying, and implementing environmental initiatives at work and in the community. (ME-3 stands for My Environment, now and for at least three generations to come).
