$50,000 Raised to Support First Nations Families in Galiwin’ku

Mother

At Bayer, we’re proud to share that our recent Elevit fundraising campaign for the Australian Red Cross has raised $50,000 to support the Baby Hub in Galiwin’ku—a remote community in East Arnhem Land.

This initiative, launched during NAIDOC Week, was driven by our commitment to supporting families through the critical first 1,000 days of life. For every Elevit or Menevit product sold at TerryWhite Chemmart between 10 July and 9 October, $5 was donated to the Baby Hub. Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we reached our fundraising goal.

The Baby Hub is a culturally safe space led by First Nations women, offering essential services like pregnancy check-ups, rest areas, and health education. It blends traditional knowledge with modern healthcare to empower new mums and strengthen community connections.

Elevit is committed to helping babies have a healthier start in life, and we are proud that the $50,000 raised will go directly toward providing vital resources—such as food, nappies, and health support—for families who need it most.

This achievement is more than a number. It’s a reflection of how small actions can create meaningful change—and how we’re living our Reconciliation commitment at Bayer ANZ.

Our commitment
Bayer aspires to leverage our specific knowledge and capabilities to engage with First Nations Peoples in a meaningful way.

Our Reconciliation Working Group is delivering Bayer Australia's second Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) helping us to:

  • focus on building relationships both internally and externally
  • raise awareness with our stakeholders to ensure there is shared understanding and ownership of our RAP within our organisation
  • build the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness of our employees and improve their knowledge and observance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols and dates of significance.
